Inspired by “kintsugi” (translated to “golden joinery”), the centuries-old Japanese art of fixing broken pottery with a special lacquer dusted with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, this performance for the camera focuses on repairing the female body. “Repairing” one’s body can be interpreted as wanting to improve oneself physically and aesthetically – but in my case, emotionally and mentally as I embrace my scars and past with abuse.
